Our first day in Cape Town was a bit drizzly and also a national holiday so there wasn't much open. After being cooped up in our safari truck we were very happy to be out walking.
We walked down to the waterfront through the Bo Kaap district and the neighborhood of our hotel. Cape Town has some amazing architecture.
You can see the city is surrounded by Table Mountain and other peaks that dominate most photos.
The next day - we hiked around the top of Table Mountain:
These little guys are called dassies pronounced like dusty without the t. They look like large guinea pigs but they are actually related to elephants! They have huge teeth like tusks. They're all over the mountain.
We enjoyed a bus ride to a nearby wine region and had a lovely lunch with some wine.
The bus ride back took way longer than expected and it was crowded and hot but we were rewarded with these two pints that were under $5.00 (for both). We're loving the prices in. Cape Town too!
