Cape Town Part 2

Cape Town has everything - Spectacular mountain views, gorgeous beaches and lots of things to do. After seeing the whole place by bus we went on a hike through the botanical gardens and then back to the downtown area to visit some art galleries. We have had a lot of good meals but our most fantastic dinner was at a place called Chef's Warehouse.

Now we're back on the road headed to wine country - This time with Mike driving (on the opposite side!)

Other than the windshield wipers vs. turn signal battle it's been a piece of cake for him!

As we headed out we took a detour to Cape Point  - first stopping to see one of only two penguin colonies in the world.

There's a baby under that mama penguin!

Then on to the Cape of Good Hope which a lot of people think is the most southern point in Africa and the point where the Indian and Atlantic oceans meet. It's not.
Although it is the point all the explorers had to figure out how to get around so it's what the legends are about - And it still has great views.

One of the biggest pests in South Africa is the baboon. They are at every tourist area looking for food and will get in your car and ransack your stuff.  They're very aggressive and because they have big teeth can be very intimidating.
This one tried to get into our car - Mike gave him a piece of his mind. You can see the baboon is already after the next sucker.

  4. Wow penguins! And the amazing rocky shoreline behind them, so beautiful. How did you scare the baboon away, Mike? Weren't you afraid he would bite? Did you shout at mischief-maker?
