We said goodbye to gorgeous Franschhoek today. One last panorama...
Mike reminded me that I didn't say much about how the wines tasted. We really enjoyed the wines at Leopards Leap, Le Lude and Haute Cabriere. Le Lude only does sparkling or MCC as they call it here.
Wines at some of the other places tasted a bit young and like they needed more time. Sometimes even if they were 2012 or 2009 - I guess these wines have some longevity.
I particularly enjoyed the MCCs and they also had a common "blush" wine which was usually 75% Chardonnay and 25% Pinot Noir that was delicious. It often didn't look like a blush at all - just like Chardonnay. Yum!
Today was a big driving day for us - Well, really for Mike. We drove the Garden Route which is the southern east coast of the country. We saw beautiful South African landscapes. We stopped in Mossel Bay for lunch on the Indian Ocean. My iPhone camera couldn't find the balance between us and the ocean so here are two bad photos to combine in your minds for one ok photo.
We had a Braai which means BBQ I think.
Mossel Bay is the beginning of the route and Plettenberg Bay is close to the end. That's where we ended up - in a cute waterfront room
with beautiful views of the beach.
Looks amazing!!! You both look so happy!!! I'm glad you're having a great time!
